This year we will join Queensland Catholic school staff in welcoming more than 150,000 students, including around 11,000 excited Preps, through the school gates.
Enrolments across 2021 have been boosted with the opening of Sophia College, Plainland, and San Damiano College, Yarrabilba, bringing the total number of Queensland Catholic schools to 309.
We also look forward to welcoming a cohort of around 11,000 Year 12 students.
Whatever 2021 has in store for us, we are confident students in Catholic schools will be supported in their learning and nurtured in their school communities.
Students, families and staff have put in a huge effort, as school communities have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with resilience, creativity and optimism.
I’m certain we will see that same spirit shining through our school communities this year.
QCEC will continue to consult with Catholic School Authorities about ongoing management of the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact this has on Queensland Catholic schools throughout 2021.
You can view our back-to-school gallery here.
I would like to thank outgoing Commission members Dr Kerrie Tuite, Dr Jim Hanley and Alanna Jacoby for their service to the Commission.
