The second annual Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Catholic Education Network Gathering was held over two days at the Rockhampton Catholic Education Office last week. 

Representatives from all dioceses and QCEC attended and discussions focused on ensuring that there is a clear Indigenous voice in Queensland Catholic schooling supported by relevant legislation and policy directed at enhancing Indigenous student outcomes. 

The agenda explored issues including away from home study (boarding), mental health and wellbeing in our schools, STEM – Indigenous Knowledges and the 2019 NAIDOC Week Theme – Voice, Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future.
