We are continuing to unpack the fine detail of the Queensland Budget in relation to school funding.

The 2019 Budget marks a shift away from the previous ‘basket nexus’ methodology for calculating recurrent funding for the non-government sector.

The net result is a smaller than expected rise in budget funding for the 2019-20 financial year.

QCEC remains in discussion with the Minister and Department of Education officials about the future impacts of this change and I will be providing you with a detailed update this week.
