Congratulations to all the Catholic schools in the Townsville region who took part in the many activities that were held in conjunction with the regional sittings of the Queensland Parliament last week. 

These events provided an opportunity for some students to have face to face conversations with the Premier and the Education Minister while for others it was a chance to get a greater understanding of how parliament operates.  

My thanks to Townsville Catholic Education Executive Director Jacqui Francis and the students and staff at Southern Cross Catholic College for also hosting a visit by the Shadow Education Minister Jarrod Bleijie during the regional Parliament.
