Congratulations and welcome to Nicholas Moore who has been appointed by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference as the new Chair of the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC).

Nicholas was CEO of Macquarie Group for 10 years before retiring in 2018.

He also chairs Screen Australia, the Sydney Opera House Trust, the Centre for Independent Studies, The Smith Family and NSW PCYC.

Nicholas takes over from outgoing Chair, Greg Crafter.

On behalf of QCEC, I would like to express gratitude and appreciation to Greg for his service to Catholic education, particularly in his role as NCEC Chair.

NCEC will hold its first meeting for the year tomorrow (Thursday) in Sydney.
