Last week was a busy one with blessing and opening ceremonies for three Queensland Catholic colleges operated by Brisbane Catholic Education.

Archbishop Coleridge joined us for the Blessing of the Soil at the construction site of Holy Spirit College in the Brisbane suburb of Fitzgibbon. The secondary college is due to open in 2022.

The Archbishop was also present for the official opening of Sophia College at Plainland in the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane. The college opened to Year 7 this year and will continue to add year levels through to 2026.

I also attended the official opening of new facilities at Southern Cross Catholic College, Scarborough. The college’s new facilities include a Secondary Student Wellbeing Centre, Staffroom, Sports Centre and Tuckshop.
