I was pleased to attend the Queensland Resources Council’s (QRC) Trade to Teach Working Group meeting yesterday at the invitation of Assistant Minister for Education Brittany Lauga.

Items on the agenda included the Queensland Initial Teacher Education Review, legislative and regulatory frameworks, workforce strategy and planning, and tradespersons under the return to work programs in schools.

These agenda items were presented by the QRC, the Queensland College of Teachers, Department of Education and Workcover Queensland. The Working Group is exploring options to help address the significant shortage across Queensland (and Australia) of ITD teachers.
