Commission Chair Hon Margaret White AO and I were pleased to meet with the Consul-General of Timor-Leste, Luciano Valentim da Conceiҫão, in Brisbane on 29 June.

The purpose of the Consul-General’s visit was to explore possibilities and seek support for the teaching of Timor-Leste history in Catholic schools.

Many Catholic schools have links with Timor-Leste through a variety of church organisations and other charities. It was interesting to discuss with Mr Valentim da Conceiҫão how we might continue to strengthen our ties.
