Following an extensive review, the Bishops of Queensland have approved a revised constitution for the Queensland Catholic Education Commission.  

The revised constitution allows for the appointment of up to five independent Commission members.  

The Bishops have so far appointed four independent members who officially commenced their three-year term on 1 October. 

I would like to welcome Prof. Henrietta Marrie AM, Sr Berneice Loch rsm OAM, Dr Carmel Diezmann and Patricia Alner as they prepare to attend their first Commission meeting this month. 

Under the revised QCEC Constitution, Diocesan Education Councils will no longer be represented on the Commission. I take this opportunity to thank the most recent representatives Ron Pugh and Ross Jones for their service to the Commission and wish them both well in their future endeavours.  

The changes also mean the Executive Director is no longer a Commission member but will continue to attend all Commission meetings.
