Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher Certification - Assessor Training Program
QCEC welcomed 15 Queensland Catholic school teachers from several dioceses this week as they began the first stage of the Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher Certification Assessor Training Program, facilitated by the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
Assessors play an integral role in the certification process which is linked to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST). The understanding that the APST are key to staff development and improved student outcomes has increased in recent years, resulting in greater interest in assessor training as candidates seek to refine and develop expert knowledge of the APST.
These assessors in training will return to their schools with deeper understanding of the certification process, the APST and the roles and responsibilities of the assessor.
Candidates will continue online training modules and will meet again in February 2023. They will then be ready to undertake assessor duties from June 2023 and reinforce the growing assessor workforce for the Queensland Catholic school sector.
